Where this begins
§  The premise Direction over labor

You already think in systems.
The work is now the system's to do.

career spent making complex things legible to other people is the exact instinct this era rewards. What has changed is the labor: you direct, and agents build, monitor, and report continuously, at almost no cost. This note describes a setup I would put together and hand to you, ready to run.

YOU FLEET REPORT OVERSEER · HERMES
I · Inventory

What is ready to hand over.

Not a list of things to acquire. An inventory of the leverage you would start with: built, tested, and ready to set up the day you want it.

The domain, availablekosters.ai

kosters.ai is available and reserved for this purpose, ready to register in your name when you say so. A fixed point the rest of the setup is built around.

A2

A private overseer, HermesPrivate overseer

An agent built for you alone. It watches quietly, produces one short daily brief, and surfaces only what genuinely needs you.

Built
A3

An agent fleet, at near-zero costAgent workforce

Runs on free models by default, around the clock. You pay only on the occasions you choose a premium model.

A guide who has walked itA cleared route

The route is already cleared. Nothing here is theoretical; the path has been travelled before it was handed to you.

Four assets · built and ready Standing by until you want it
II · The path

Four measured steps.

Deliberately short. Each step is concrete, and none depends on you typing your way through a setup. Hardware, then handover, then it works for you.
Hardware≥ 16 GB
1

One machine

A Mac mini with sixteen gigabytes of memory or more. That is the entire hardware requirement.

HandoverDay one
2

Move the overseer in

The day the machine arrives, Hermes takes up residence and begins keeping watch.

Operation≈ $0
3

Put the fleet to work

Agents run day and night for almost nothing. You pay only when you choose to.

4

Build for who matters

Once it is yours, you point it at your own priorities, and the people behind them.

III · On security

Your discipline is the asset.

The instinct you have spent a career sharpening is precisely what this model is built on. The architecture is boundaries enforced at the credential layer, not boundaries asserted in a policy document and trusted to hold.

You set the boundaries. They are enforced in the design rather than left to a person to remember.

Constraints a person has to remember will eventually be forgotten. Constraints built into the architecture do not depend on remembering.
R1Identity
Scoped, least-privilege credentials
Each capability is granted narrowly and explicitly. No shared passwords, no standing keys to everything.
Least privilege
R2Finance
Financial data is read-only by design
Money can be observed but not moved: the data path is read-only, with no write capability to the account in the first place.
Read only
R3Boundary
No agent holds a money-moving credential
No agent is issued a credential that could transfer funds. The boundary is the credential itself, not a rule layered on top of it.
Enforced
R4Oversight
A rule-based watchdog
A separate guard that follows rules rather than guessing. Deterministic by design, so it behaves the same every time.
Deterministic
That is the whole of it

The setup is ready to hand over. The direction is yours.
